Come fly fish with Orvis and the Covert Girls

The girls are back in town and we're learning to fly fish!

Orvis will be hosting their US experts in the London store for a casting instruction completely free of charge for Covert Girls only.  Enjoy cakes and a glass of fizz during our introduction to this magnificent field sport.

Helen Barbour

When I first became head of Barbour Sporting having finally decided to go into the family business at the tender age of 44, I knew very little about the shooting world. I’d taken some clay lessons with my best friend over the years (but mainly just for fun and something new to do) and had only been along to a handful of game days with Barbour. I was a complete novice. Also I’m a real townie so the ways of the countryside and its pursuits were rather foreign to me.

Shooting from Zero to Sixty Miles an Hour in Six Months - A journey of a Covert Girl

In six months I’ve gone from never having touched a shotgun in my life to buying a gun and all the attendant paraphernalia – shotgun license, gun safe, shooting tweeds and boots, gun cleaning tools. In the meantime I’ve entered a whole new world of socialising and fun, and made some wonderful friends. I’ve spent time both fair weather and foul in some of England’s most beautiful estates, and enjoyed every minute of it. How could this happen?
